Backlinks – do it right!

A crucial part of building your website traffic is to establish good backlinks. The correct links can project your website far and wide to relevant audiences. However, done incorrectly, you can find yourself with a number of problems, for example being marked down by Google or attracting the wrong traffic. What is a backlink?

A backlink is a link directed towards your website. Typically a higher number of backlinks (also known as inbound links) will lead to your website ranking well.

Lots of backlinks, does not however mean fantastic search engines results. The relevance of the backlink is measured, if they are not seen as high quality backlinks, Google algorithms will understand this and your rankings will be affected in a negative manner – defeating the objective.
